Sparklabs Co-op Project
The Sparklabs Co-op Project was a project designed by the animatronics and advanced technology team at Hasbro (referred to as Sparklabs). I worked with the electrical engineering co-op on Sparklabs. We were tasked with creating an innovative and iconic toy for a specific age group.

The other co-op and I conducted research to identify market gaps and to learn about what toys parents want for their children. Young children often do not make decisions around what toys they receive, so it is important to market toys to the parents of children. We identified the target market for our toy and chose an iconic form factor to make parents feel like they are educating their children through the toy. There are limited educational toys in the area we chose on the market for the age group we were designing for, so we felt confident that this toy could fill a market gap.
After completing this research, I created multiple iterations of CAD models for the toy. These models were used to create quality renderings for presentations and to calculate the estimated pre-market cost of the toy. The electrical engineering co-op worked on creating a breadboard model of the toy for demonstration and costing purposes.

This toy concept was presented to the relevant team and was praised for its innovative themes. The toy was greenlit for development and the relevant team took on further work for the project after my co-op finished.
